Part A: Food Commons Project Details
Description Of Activities:

We are a rustic, hand built lodge that focuses on sustainability. We have a big vegetable garden and we are busy growing a food forest. At this time (Coronavirus Lockdown) we are re-structuring our business, so right now there is only the family living and working here (3 adults and 1 child), no employees and no volunteers. The vegetable garden has lots of granadillas, banana trees, paw paw trees, moringa trees and chilli bushes. We also grow garlic, lettuce, spinach, sweet potato, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, peppers and a variety of other things. We also run a tree nursery with local trees such as coastal silver oak, red milkwood, white milkwood, spekboom and others. Now, we are about to buy the material and seedlings to start a food forest all around our property. As with everything we do, we attempt to expand into the community and work with local people to encourage them to grow their own gardens.
